The House that Huz built

for the Buns!!!

Yes, we are crazy and the Buns are taking over the house =) This is their new 2 story house and yard . They dragged all the toys that were in the yard back into their house. They're very neat like that.

Hef *loves* it and runs up and down the ramp, in his yard, and loves to sit and look outside. (I take the bunnies outside with me when the weather is nice and they play on the grass while I read or write or clean. Hef loves to be outside). We also let the buns run around in the living room and kitchen (highly supervised- they are totally mischevious!)

Holly is much more reserved and won't go up the ramp. She just likes to sit in her bed and be lazy. She won't go in the yard if she can help it. I'm hoping she gets used to her new house and runs around and enjoys it as much as her Huz-Bun. I'm going to be taking down the yard at night and putting the little door back on the front of the house. My crazy rabbits have been known to attempt escapes in the night (the little brats don't know how good they have it!)

So, that's what's going on here =)

Lent

Anyone giving up anything for Lent?. I'm not Catholic, but I do believe in fasting/ sacrificing to get closer to God. I've been reading my Bible and journaling, and am really excited to see what this season of fasting brings. Last year, I gave up Nesting (which was a huge sacrifice for me!), so I wanted to do something different this year. I decided to give up non-cable TV. I am way addicted to TV, so this is definitely going to be a challenge. We have a DVR, so if I want to, I can catch up with my Bravo, Lifetime, E, and MTV shows later... and trust me, there are a lot of them. It may seem like a cop out because I wil still allow myself to watch local channels (where my beloved Glee, Modern Family, and The Office reside) but.... oh well. It's between me and God and I don't care what people think.

I'm also giving up Facebook games. Even typing that reminds me of what a loser I am... but those stupid freaking games can get so addicting! They are time suckers, and I know that refraining from playing them will give me sooooo much time to focus on what's important to me. God, my family & friends, and giving back to my community.

Okay, this last one is kind of embarrassing, but I can trust you, right? Pinky Swear? I'm trying to fast from... gossip. I'm a girl, and girls like to talk about everything and everyone. We just do. And, I know I can totally be a chismosa and metiche sometimes. I'm not proud of it, I'm just stating the facts. I honestly don't do it to be mean or hurtful... I'm just nosy and like to know what's going on! But, I do give the side eye to people at times, and I want to break that habit. I want to be loving and caring and nurturing dammit!

So, that's what's going down over here. I'm excited to see what God does around these parts during the next 40 days! =)

Just so we're clear

I really suck at blogging. I really really really wanted to take pics every day.... but seriously, I don't do anything. I'm either at home or at work (and I can't really take pics of the kids at work b/c of confidentiality issues). Trying to take a picture every day just reminded me that I'm a loser with no life. You can only take so many pictures of shiz around your house or your bunnies or your dinner before that realization sinks in. Blah. So whatev. I fail. I'll take pics when I can. And I'll blog when I can (read: when I'm not too lazy to).

That is all.

2/6/10

I was inspired by my friend Mrs. C to make brownies tonight. We'll see if they're yummy or not! =)

2/3/10- 2/5/10

Honestly, I didn't take any pics. I wasn't feeling well, and I slept at odd times of the day. I didn't even know what days it was. I'm feeling okay now, so hopefully I can continue on from here. I hate when I feel weird like that.

2/2/10

This is a cute little pillow my mom bought for me at Cracker barrel while I was visiting. It was soaked (along with the rest of my stuff) in my luggage, but I think it'll make it. =) It dried off, and I still love it =) Thanks mom!

2/1/10

Huz eating dinner while we watch TV... I swear, when we have kids, we'll stop eating in front of the TV!

50 Books in 2010

My goal this year is 50. I've already made use of my library card, and I have some of my own sitting on my shelf that I haven't yet cracked open, so I think I'm set for now. But, I'm always taking recommendations! Maybe I'll come back and use this post to keep track of what I've read. So far this year I've finished:
1. The Princess Bride by William Goldman (Love)
2. The Wedding Girl by Madeleine Wickham (Ok, Chick-Lit beach read)
3. Wifey by Judy Blume (kinda smutty)
4. The Red Tent by Anita Diamant (interesting, but felt long)
5. Celebutantes by Amanda Goldberg & Ruthanna Khalight Hopper (this book was just as stupid as it sounds. It was painful to get through. I hated it)
6. Dear John by Nicholas Sparks (Dislike)
7. sTORI telling by Tori Spelling (don't judge me!)
8. The Luxe by Anna Godbersen
9. Rumors: A Luxe Novel by Anna Godbersen
10. Envy: A Luxe Novel by Anna Godbersen
11. Splendor: A Luxe Novel by Anna Godbersen

20. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin (looooooved it!!!)
21. City of Thieves by David Benioff (such a great, well written book)

Yikes! I'm already getting behind! Read faster Marissa! Faster!

1/31/10

Squeeeeeeee! It's Gleeeeeeee! Huz is the most awesome, amazing, wonderful, fabulous husband ever! He got this for me while I was in Tex-ass with the fam and gave it to me when I came home. I was so excited! I loooooove Glee, and watching the DVDs keeps me company while Huz is at work at night. He patiently sat through a few episodes when I first opened it, but has since begged to not be forced to watch them. It's okay- I don't like watching his Ghost Hunting crap shows.
