Happy Resurrection Day!

Easter has always been really important and special for my family and me. While growing up, we wore our new just-picked-it-up-from-layaway-at-Ross dresses, went to church to watch the Easter play, had lunch at Grandma's and looked for eggs. I loved having that time with family, and love even more remembering the sacrificial love that Easter is about.

Even after all these years in church, sometimes I still can't wrap my head around how much Jesus loves us. To leave Heaven, come down here in the form of a man with all the temptation and hurt and frustration that being human entails is already a big sacrifice. And to voluntarily be rejected, tortured, hated, have the whole world's sin put on his shoulders, and be killed for them. And then, to conquer death, to raise again from the grave and tell me that because of what He's done, I have life after death to look forward to as well! Just knowing an awesome, all powerful God loves me enough to do all of that... makes me so very grateful.

Thank you Lord for showing me what true, unconditional love really means, and for laying down your beautiful, sinless life in exchange for mine when I don't deserve it.

Okay, so saying all that, I know that Easter is not about bunnies and eggs... and bunnies. But I am a Crazy Bunny Lady, and I love my Buns so much! And bunnies are really cute. So, of course I baked some bunny themed treats for our family get together today, and for Huz's work buddes. I got the idea from here. I think they turned out okay (not as cute as the original blogger's, but still okay). They're vanilla with buttercream frosting with Starburst jellybean noses. Yay for bunnies!!!

Happy Easter everyone!
